This is a scale model of the Odyssey IV vehicle, made on our 3D printer. It was supposed to help us test the design of the recovery cage that we printed out, but we made the walls too thin... so instead, it will probably become a mobile in someone's office.

Here's a timelapse video of the 3D printing process for a model of a vehicle recovery system.
This is the finished product with the support material dissolved away.
The design is meant to guide the vehicle into a solid structure that can survive some rough handling as it is pulled up onto the deck of a support ship.
